Peter Nowotny
Peter Nowotny, painter and trained communications engineer, has been combining painting and new media since 1985. He lifts figures out of fashion and media photography, reduces them to contour and colour band and turns them into ornament – mirrored, repeated, recomposed. His large-format canvases give rise to C-prints, glass objects and videos that bring together the visual worlds of Occident and Orient.
Shown with Galerie ArtAffair (Regensburg) and Conny Dietzschold Gallery (Sydney) at art Karlsruhe, discovery art fair Cologne, Sydney Contemporary and Art Central Hong Kong. Exhibitions include Museum Ulm, Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig and Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie Regensburg.
